Man Sentenced For Fatally Hitting Victim With Car Outside Union Co. Restaurant

Kareem Allen, 29, of Orange, got into a verbal argument with the victim in a local restaurant in Elizabeth before hitting him with a car.

ELIZABETH, NJ — An Orange man was sentenced to 13 years in state prison for fatally hitting Malcom Webb, 30 of Newark, with his car in Union County, authorities announced Thursday.

Union County Superior Court Judge Thomas K. Isenhour sentenced Kareem Allen, 29, on Friday
for first-degree aggravated manslaughter. Allen must serve at least 85 percent of that sentence before being eligible for parole, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel, Elizabeth Police Chief Giacomo Sacca, and Elizabeth Police Director Earl Graves announced.

Allen previously pled guilty to the charge on Jan. 23.

In the early morning hours of April 3, 2021, Elizabeth Police were called to Dickinson Street and found Webb, who suffered serious injuries, according to Assistant Prosecutor Jillian Reyes.

An investigation found that following a verbal argument in a local restaurant in Elizabeth, Allen, Webb, and others left.

Allen then got into his vehicle and deliberately struck the victim before fleeing the scene, said authorities.

Webb sustained deadly injuries as a result of Allen’s conduct.
