National Night Out events are held in communities across America, a night for neighbors to get to know each other, meet their local police, and show unity against crime.

The National Night Out website states that the annual event "enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances."
