New Westfield School Board Members Sworn In

Michael Bielen, Brendan Galligan, and Amy Root were sworn in and will serve on the Westfield Board of Education.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Welcome aboard! The Westfield Board of Education swore in Michael Bielen, Brendan Galligan, and Amy Root who were elected on Nov. 8, 2016.

The three members were congratulated by Business Administrator Dana Sullivan on their positions during the Jan. 5 board meeting.

Gretchan Ohlig was nominated by Mark Friedman to continue as President of the Westfield Board of Education. Amy Root nominated Peggy Oster to resume the role of Vice President. The Board was unanimous in electing the nominees to their positions.

The Westfield Board of Education is comprised of nine volunteers who are elected into office to serve three-year terms:

  • Gretchan Ohlig (President),
  • Peggy Oster (Vice President),
  • Michael Bielen,
  • Christopher Langhart,
  • Mark Friedman,
  • Brendan Galligan,
  • Charles Ostroff,
  • Robert Garrison,
  • Amy Root.
