NY Jets, ShopRite Deliver 14 Tons of Thanksgiving Turkeys To Food Bank
The New York Jets and ShopRite delivered 2,300 frozen turkeys, 2,000 bags of carrots, and another 2,000 pounds of potatoes.
HILLSIDE, NJ — New York Jets alumni Marty Lyons, Tony Richardson and Fred Baxter, along with New York JetsFlight Crew Cheerleaders, joined ShopRite to make a holiday donation to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey.
The players and flight crew were on hand on Nov. 14, when ShopRite delivered 2,300 frozen turkeys, 2,000 bags of carrots, and another 2,000 pounds of potatoes to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey.
The supermarket’s annual holiday donation is a longstanding ShopRite tradition that enables families to sit down to a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

Volunteers from ShopRite, the food bank and the New York Jets helped unload the donations for distribution to food pantries, soup kitchens and other organizations that help get the food to people in need.
Through its year-round hunger-fighting initiative, ShopRite Partners In Caring, ShopRite has donated more than a million pounds of holiday turkey over the last 17 years to food banks in the region. This year’s donation of 60 tons of turkeys has been loaded onto ShopRite trucks and is on its way to local food banks in six states.
