Pedestrian In Crosswalk Hit By Car In Westfield

The Westfield man was hit near the Train Station in town on Wednesday morning, said police.

WESTFIELD, NJ — A pedestrian walking in a crosswalk was hit by a car in Westfield on Wednesday.

On Jan. 24, a 58-year-old man from Westfield was crossing from Boulevard across West South Avenue in the crosswalk when he was hit by a 2014 Hyundai Elantra, said Westfield Police Chief Michael Walsh.

The car, driven by 61-year-old man from Perth Amboy, was going south on Boulevard while making a right hand turn onto West South Avenue when the crash happened, said Walsh.

The pedestrian did not want medical attention but complained of back pain.
