Philly Pretzel Factory Closes

Bad news for Philly Pretzel Factory fans. The South Avenue shop has been closed since Thursday.

A notice on the door indicates a dispute between the landlord and franchise owner, Rick Hendon. 

Disappointed patrons passing by the store Saturday morning told Patch that they were sorry to see the shop closed. 

"It's a shame," one former customer said. "I was going to order a platter for a barbecue I'm having." 

Sherry Cronin, executive director of the Downtown Westfield Corporation, said she had heard the store closed but as Philly Pretzel Factory was not a DWC member, she did not have any other details. 

An email sent Thursday and a call placed Friday morning to a Philly Pretzel Factory spokesperson were not returned at press time.
