Union County Man Sentenced For Having Guns, Selling Cocaine In Somerset County
Dominick Montgomery, 38, of Plainfield, was distributing drugs in the Somerset and Middlesex County area, authorities said.
PLAINFIELD, NJ — A Union County man and convicted felon was sentenced to 144 months in prison after police say he sold guns and drugs to an undercover officer, U.S. Attorney John Giordano announced.
Dominick Montgomery, 38, of Plainfield, pleaded guilty on Oct. 8, 2024, to possession of firearms and ammunition by a convicted felon and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
On March 6, 2025, Judge Georgette Castner sentenced Montgomery to 144 months of imprisonment.

In October of 2021, authorities were investigating narcotics trafficking in the Somerset and Middlesex County area.
During the investigation, law enforcement identified Montgomery as a person distributing narcotics in that area, according to court documents.

From Oct. 27, 2021, until Jan. 24, 2022, Montgomery sold eight firearms, cocaine, and fentanyl to an undercover law enforcement officer in exchange for money, according to authorities.
During the last transaction, on Jan. 24, 2022, Montgomery sold the undercover officer cocaine and three firearms in exchange for $6,750, according to authorities.
On Feb. 2, 2022, law enforcement arrested Montgomery and found him in possession of a Smith and Wesson pistol and 15 rounds of ammunition.
In addition to the prison term, Montgomery was sentenced to three years of supervised release.
