Power Restored At Kean University Wednesday
Breaking: 15 students were evacuated from a school elevator by Union Township Fire Department after being trapped briefly.

UNION, NJ — Power has been restored to the Kean University campus in Union Wednesday morning. All classes and activities will resume as scheduled on Wednesday, the university announced.
A power outage was reported Tuesday around 9:30 a.m. after a transformer blew causing students to be trapped in an elevator for a short time and classes to be cancelled Tuesday.
A total of 15 students were stuck in an elevator for a short time as a result of the outage and were evacuated by Union Township Fire Department, Kean spokeswoman Margaret McCorry told Patch.

Residence halls were operating on generator power during the outage and the residence hall dining hall remained open.
