Primary Election Results Certified In Westfield 2023 Council Race

WESTFIELD, NJ — The final vote tally for the primary elections were certified on Monday, June 19, by the Union County Clerk. This did not change the projected election outcome.

Westfield voters headed to the polls on June 6 to cast ballots. Their choices this year included seats on the Town Council for all four wards.

Both Council races for Republicans and Democrats were uncontested in the primary election.

With all districts reporting, here are the certified results, according to the Union County Clerk's Office:

Westfield Primary Candidates For Ward 1:

• Emily Root - Democrat* - 328
• Todd Saunders - Republican (Write-In) - 129

Westfield Primary Candidates For Ward 2:

• Erika Vargas-Garrison - Democrat - 249
• Michael Armento - Republican - 162

Westfield Primary Candidates For Ward 3:

• Dawn Nichol-Manning - Democrat - 287
• Michal D. Domogala - Republican - 175

Westfield Primary Candidates For Ward 4:

• Scott Katz - Democrat* - 295
• David Kiefer - Republican - 159

All of the candidates will now run for the one, four-year town council seat for each Ward in the general election on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
