Roselle Woman Critically Injured When Tree Falls On Car
Tanya Blaine of Roselle has life threatening injuries after a tree fell on her car, crushing the roof and trapping her inside in Morristown.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — A Roselle woman was among two people who were injured when a tree fell on their car with them inside of it during Monday night's thunderstorms, Morristown Police Lt. Stuart Greer said.
Tanya Blaine, 57, of Roselle was identified as the driver and 46 year-old Nikisha Turner of Morristown was in the front passenger seat of a 2008 Nissan Sentra. The car was on Ford Avenue near Franklin Street when the tree fell over, striking the vehicle and crushing the roof, trapping them inside around 8 p.m., Greer said.
A passing motorist saw the damaged car and called 911.

Morristown Fire Department and Atlantic Emergency Medical Services emergency crews began freeing the occupants. More help was needed from C&L Towing and Morristown Autobody as heavy rescue equipment was used, according to Greer.
Both Blaine and Turner were transported to the Emergency Department at Morristown Medical Center where they were admitted into the Intensive Care Unit with traumatic injuries.

As of this time, Blaine remains in critical condition with serious traumatic injuries that are considered life threatening. Turner remains in the Intensive Care Unit, however her status has been upgraded to critical but stable, according to Greer.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the two victims and their families," Morristown Mayor Timothy Dougherty said in a statement.
A powerful evening storm knocked down trees and power lines around the county. Several dozen remain without power in the Greater Morristown Area.
