Sensory Friendly Films Showings Increased at AMC Jersey Gardens

Elizabeth, NJ -- AMC Theatres and the Autism Society have teamed up to offer the “Sensory Friendly Films” program where individuals living with autism and others can watch films in a safe and accepting environment on a monthly basis.

The AMC Lowes Theater at the Mills at Jersey Gardens is participating in this program which has expanded its schedule of Sensory Friendly Films to four showings per month – the second and fourth Tuesday and Saturday.

“In order to provide a more accepting and comfortable setting for individuals on the autism spectrum, the movie auditorium keeps their lights slightly up and the sound slightly down,” The Mills posted in a release. “Additionally, audience members are welcome to get up and dance, walk, shout or sing. Because some have strict, special dietary needs, families are permitted to bring their own gluten-free, casein-free snacks from home.”
