Shoplifting, Fraud Reported In Westfield

Westfield Police released the blotter for the past week.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Shoplifting and fraud were reported in the latest Westfield Police blotter.

Westfield Police Blotter from Jan. 21 to Jan. 27:

On Jan. 23 at 9:12 a.m.: A resident in the 100 block of N. Cottage Place reports fraudulent withdrawals from their account with a financial institution. The withdrawals occurred at an ATM. The resident stated they did not make the withdrawals, nor did they authorize anyone to make the withdrawals on their behalf. At this time the resident has not suffered a monetary loss.

On Jan. 25 at 8 p.m.: A business in the 100 block of E. Broad Street reported a shoplifting that occurred. The approximate value of the shoplifting is more than $800. The actors selected items and tried them on in the fitting room. The actor then left the business without paying for said items.
