Shoplifting, Fraud, Warrant Arrest Reported In Westfield

Westfield Police released its latest blotter for the past week.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Shoplifting, fraud, and a warrant arrest were reported within the last week in Westfield.

Westfield Police Blotter – Dec. 29, 2024 to Jan. 4, 2025:

On Dec. 30 at 12:29 a.m.: Peterson Delice, 41, Plainfield, was arrested following a motor vehicle stop in the area of East South Avenue, near the intersection of Windsor Avenue, after he was found to have an outstanding Middlesex County Sheriff's Office NCIC No Bail Warrant, in addition to outstanding Elizabeth Municipal Contempt of Court Warrants totaling $7,750, and a Roselle Municipal Contempt of Court Warrant totaling $500. Delice was processed and subsequently turned over to the custody of the Middlesex County Sheriff's Office.

On Dec. 31 at 11:34 a.m.: A business of the 200 block of East North Avenue reported a shoplifting that just occurred. The manager of the business reported the suspect took around $450 worth of merchandise from the store without paying.

On Dec. 31 at 12:46 p.m.: A resident of the 800 block of Dorian Road reported being defrauded from an online purchase. The resident stated he was contacted via a fraudulent email informing the resident of shipping information for a high-end piece of men's jewelry the resident posted for sale. The suspect stated in the email; payment will be provided once the item was shipped to a certain address. The resident stated once the item was shipped, the resident did not receive payment. The value of the item is around $4,350.

On Jan. 2 at 1:24 p.m.: A resident of the 600 block of Tremont Avenue reported being the victim of fraud. The complainant states that they saw two fraudulent transactions for $549.96 and $316.72 on their debit card for an Amazon Marketplace account that does not belong to the victim.
