Stolen Car, Attempted Bike Theft, Fraud Reported In Westfield
Police also reported a person driving by a Westfield home yelling, driving on their lawn, and knocking over their garbage cans.
WESTFIELD, NJ — A stolen car, attempted bike theft, fraud, and a suspicious incident were all reported in Westfield, according to the police blotter from March 19 to March 25.
On March 20 at 6:41 a.m.: A resident on the 600 block of Cumberland Street reports that an unauthorized account was opened with Bank of America using the victim's identifying information. The account was canceled and there is no monetary loss suffered by the victim.
On March 20 at 12:53 p.m.: A motor vehicle stop was conducted on Central Avenue near Ayliffe Avenue for a motor vehicle violation. The driver of the vehicle, who was identified as Anthony Priore, 33 of Garwood, was found to have multiple outstanding traffic warrants totaling $1,750. Priore was released on his own recognizance by Branchburg Township, Fairfield Township and Cranford Township Municipal Courts with pending future court dates.

On March 20 at 1:02 p.m.: A motor vehicle stop was conducted on East Broad Street near Prospect Street for a motor vehicle violation. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Fanny Espinoza, 42 of Bronx, NY. Espinoza was found to have an outstanding traffic warrant out of Brick in the amount of $500. Brick Municipal Court released Espinoza on her own recognizance with a new court date pending.
On March 21 at 6:45 a.m.: The Westfield Police Department took custody of Justin Brown, 44 of Scotch Plains on the strength of a Westfield Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $1,000. Brown was held until his court appearance where he was released on his own recognizance on a new order of agreeance.

On March 21 at 6:18 p.m.: Dispatch received a report of an adult man trying to steal a bicycle from the Northside Train Station bike racks. Upon arrival, Officers Scanlon and Marlow saw Larry Fields, 61, of Roselle, using a hand saw to cut a bike lock. Fields was arrested and found to be in possession of a multi-tool and pliers as well. He was charged with criminal attempt to commit theft, burglary tools, and criminal mischief. Fields was processed and released on a summons with a mandatory Westfield Municipal Court date.
On March 22 at 7:59 a.m.: Steven Ampuerosolorzano, 22 of Linden was arrested pursuant to a motor vehicle stop at Elm Street and E. Broad Street. Ampuerosolorzano had an outstanding Linden warrant for the amount of $130. He was released on scene with a new Linden Municipal Court date.
On March 24 at 8:14 p.m.: A 2019 Audi Q5 was stolen from the 700 block of Coleman Place. This vehicle was left unlocked and running when it was stolen.
On March 24 at 10:24 p.m.: An individual has been driving past a residence on the 1100 block of Boynton Avenue yelling at a residence. On multiple occasions this vehicle has driven on their lawn and backed into their driveway honking their horn and knocking over their garbage cans.
