Stolen Car, Home Burglary Reported In Westfield
Westfield Police also reported fraud, DWI arrest, and attempted car burglary in the latest police blotter.
WESTFIELD, NJ — A home burglary, stolen car, DWI arrest, and more were reported in the latest Westfield Police Blotter.
Westfield Police Blotter – March 17 to March 23:
On March 17 at 2:14 a.m.: Ronald Estradarivera, 40, Long Branch, was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated, following a motor vehicle stop on Clifton Street, near the intersection of Beverly Drive. Estradarivera was taken to Westfield Police Headquarters where he was processed and later released with a future court date.

On March 17 at 12:18 p.m.: A resident on the 500 block of Cumberland Street reported that their vehicle was stolen overnight. The vehicle, a 2021 Hyundai valued at around $24,000, was parked in the roadway at the time of theft. The resident said they had all of the car keys at the time of the theft. The investigation found broken glass near where the vehicle was parked. The resident did not report any additional items of value in the vehicle at the time of the theft.
On March 17 at 3:35 p.m.: A motor vehicle stop took place in the area of North Euclid Avenue and Mountain Avenue due to an observed equipment violation. During the traffic stop the officer learned of two separate active traffic warrants for the driver, Eliza Brzostowski, 25, Newark, from two separate municipalities. Brzostowski was released on scene on their recognizance with a new court date for each municipality.

On March 18 at 4:25 p.m.: A resident of the 200 block of Eaglecroft Road reported an incident of fraud. Specifically, the victim reported that someone made numerous unauthorized ATM cash withdrawals utilizing their debit card information. The victim was in possession of their debit card at the time that these fraudulent withdrawals were made. They suffered a monetary loss of $2,600 as a result of this incident.
On March 19 at 3:39 p.m.: A resident of the 100 block of Cowperthwaite Place reported an incident of fraud. Specifically, the victim reported that they purchased tickets to an event using Facebook Marketplace. After sending payment to the seller via Zelle, the victim did not receive the tickets. The victim suffered a monetary loss of $800 as a result of this incident.
On March 20 at 12 p.m.: A resident of the 800 block of Wallberg reported being the victim of identity theft. The complainant states while applying for a permit in another jurisdiction he was made aware that there was another name attached to his social security number.
On March 20 at 6:47 p.m.: Westfield Patrol Officers responded to a report of a suspicious incident. The caller reported someone described as a black adult male wearing a camouflage vest knocked on her door in the 600 block of Boulevard asking questions about an unknown third party he claimed to be investigating. The subject then fled the area in a dark-colored Jeep.
On March 21 at 7:58 p.m.: Officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of Watchung Fork following an alarm activation. Responding officers discovered the door open, indicating forcible entry by individuals into the residence. A thorough interior check of the residence yielded negative results for suspects. At the time of the report, the resident did not notice anything missing or out of place. It was noted that the residence was vacant at the time of the incident.
On March 22 at 12:14 a.m.: An unknown suspect attempted to commit burglary or theft to a parked vehicle in a driveway of the 900 block of Willow Grove Road. The suspect was thwarted by the vehicle's door locks. This incident was captured on the owner's security camera system.
