Stolen Electric Scooters From Westfield Train Station
A car with its keys inside was also stolen in Westfield, according to the latest police blotter.
WESTFIELD, NJ — A stolen car, two stolen electric scooters, fraud and more were reported recently in Westfield.
Westfield Police Blotter – Nov. 10 to Nov. 16:
On Nov. 12 at 12:56 p.m.: A resident in the 800 block of Forest Avenue reports that they were the victim of a fraudulent transaction from an account. The resident states that they spoke to an unknown actor who they thought was a representative of "bill pay" platform. However, this communication was a rouse to obtain information and access from the resident which led to the fraudulent charge. The resident is currently at a financial loss of about $500.

On Nov. 13 at 6:04 p.m.: A local resident reports that their electric scooter was stolen on Nov. 13, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., while locked to a bicycle rack in the area of the South Side Train Station. The scooter has an approximate value of $179.
On Nov. 13 at 6:16 p.m.: A local resident reports that their electric scooter was stolen on Nov. 13, between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., while locked to a bicycle rack in the area of the North Side Train Station. The scooter has an approximate value of $179.

On Nov. 14 at 6:50 a.m.: A resident in the 100 block of Boynton Court reported that their vehicle was stolen. The vehicle, a 2020 Honda valued at around $22,000, was parked in front of the resident’s driveway at the time of theft. The resident indicated that the keys for the vehicle were inside the vehicle at the time of theft. The resident stated there were items of value in the vehicle at the time of the theft and that the approximate value of those stolen items is $300.
On Nov. 14 at 7:05 a.m.: A resident in the 200 block of Scotch Plains Avenue reports that an unknown actor tried to burglarize their vehicle while their vehicle was parked in their driveway. The actor was seen in the resident's driveway by the resident, when the resident yelled towards the actor. It appears no entry was gained to the vehicle. There were no items taken from the vehicle, nor was there any damage to either vehicle.
On Nov. 14 at 2:35 p.m.: A resident in the 900 block of Woodmere Drive reports that they were the victim of fraudulent monetary transfers from a financial account. The resident states that unknown actor(s) made fraudulent transfers without his approval or authorization. Prior to the fraudulent transfers, the actor(s) contacted the resident and claimed they represented their cellular phone provider and that they in fact were confirming with the resident about wireless communication issues. However, this communication was a rouse to obtain information and access from the resident to their cellular phone which led to the fraudulent transactions as well as the resident's identity being stolen to obtain unauthorized lines of credit. The resident is currently at a financial loss of more than $9,000.
On Nov. 15 at 12:20 p.m.: Westfield Police received a report of an iPhone 16 and a wallet being stolen from a vehicle parked on the 400 block of South Chestnut Street between 11:10 a.m. and 12 p.m.
