Summer Updates Prepare Westfield Schools For a New Year
A number of improvements and updates were made over the summer to get Westfield Schools ready for the new year.

WESTFIELD, NJ — The students may have been off for the summer but staff at Westfield School District were busy at work.
The Westfield Board of Education met on Sept. 20 and Technology Liaison and Chair Peggy Oster announced a number of improvements and updates made over the summer.
- Fire alarms and projectors have been replaced;
- New boilers were installed at Jefferson and Wilson schools. A total of eight new boilers will be replaced throughout the year;
- The roofs on school buildings were reenforced to allow for the installation of solar panels slated for maby of the schools by the end of 2016;
- Elementary schools were updated with WiFi, new intercoms, clocks and bells. And a new firewall and network security was also added.
