There’s A New Wing Joint In Town
New Jersey local dishes out fresh, made-to-order wings with the opening of Wingstop in Union.
UNION, NJ — A local New Jersey resident is bringing wings to a whole new level with the opening of his restaurant, Wingstop in Union.
Peter Patel of Parsippany opened the wing franchise location on Nov. 9. This is his first location. He plans on opening another in Morris County in Wharton.
“The key to all of our wings is they are fresh and made to order,” Patel said.

The wings are never frozen aside from Super Bowl time when a large shipment comes in at once.
“Since we make everything fresh it takes about 13 minutes to cook and 4 minutes to sauce and bag,” Patel said. “We encourage customers to use our online app and call ahead.”

Wingstop offers bone-in wings and boneless which are breaded. Both types of wings are jumbo sized. Tenders are also offered.
There are only 11 sauces as Patel says the wants to make sure what they offer is done well. There are a core 10 flavor sauces that remain on the menu with the eleventh flavor changing by the season.
“We found 10 flavors that everyone loves and we don’t want to drown people in 50 different flavors,” Patel said. “Out 10 flavors go very fast so they don’t sit more than a couple days on a shelf. Our ingredients are always fresh.”
“The sauces should hit every flavor note a customer wants,” Patel said.
