We're singing, doing crafts, learning Bible verses and hearing stories...at Vacation Bible Camp; we are doing it ALL!
Under the direction of Interim Christian Education Director Christine Treger, VBC is celebrating the love of God. The opening song tells our story, "love, joy, faith that we share - it's an everywhere Fun Fair!"
Glue sticks were at the ready for crafts (and for sharing in the mission cupboard). Mrs. Nancy Smith had the costumes and scripts available to help tell the Bible story of Sarah and Abraham.
Mrs. Nancy Testa kept things hopping in the Discovery room where the kids watched an experiment that saw each volcano "erupt" on the tables.
Fun has been incorporated in every activity of the morning. "In the discovery room, the children learn about the similarities and differences of people around the world. We emphasize that while our outsides and customs might be different, God loves us the same way," Mrs. Testa said.
With their had decorated "passports" in hand, the children got a glimpse of Japan today and during the week will learn of Zimbabwe, the United Kingdom, Mexico and Australia.
Rev. Ray Roberts was there to greet the children and welcome the parents who dropped them off to the chapel. "We have twice as many children this year!" he said.
And Rev. Mike Sampson closed in prayer. What a super day at VBC!
