I visited the annual Apple Fest, located on the lawn of the historic Reeve House in Westfield last Saturday. This annual event, in it’s fifth year, is a fundraiser for the Reeve house. The Reeve house is a wonderful example of architecture from around the 1870's in Westfield. It houses the Westfield Historical museum, which focuses on the history of Westfield from Colonial times through today. The Historical Society has been in existence since 1968!
The Historical Society of Westfield is a vital group in Westfield. The Historical Society has been diligent in the transformation of the Reeve house.
It is important that the town of Westfield work hand in hand with the Historic Society, as well as other groups, who are doing their best to maintain Westfield and keep it the 'jewel' that it is in the state of New Jersey.

One such group is the Garden Club of Westfield. The group is instrumental in beautifying Westfield. They maintain the planters found throughout town, changing the flowers seasonally. They maintain garden areas throughout town, including Tamaques and Mindowaskin. It is volunteers like these, which make me proud to call Westfield home.
