Visitor Who Tried To Smuggle Drugs To Union County Jail Inmate Arrested: Police

ELIZABETH, NJ — A visitor was arrested after she tried to smuggle drugs to an inmate at Union County Jail, Union County Police report.
Gekisah Fowlkes, 32, from Orange was accused of placing plastic straws containing marijuana, into exposed screw holes in the block separating the inmates and the visitors, which the screws had been removed from.
She was found to be in possession of marijuana and had already attempted to place a number of straws into the holes.

Fowlkes was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, under 50 grams, and for introducing contraband into a Correctional Facility, both disorderly persons offenses.
She was transported to County Police, where she was processed and released pending a City of Elizabeth Municipal Court date.
