Warrant Arrest, Fraud Reported In Westfield

Westfield Police released the blotter with incidents from last week.

WESTFIELD, NJ — A warrant arrest and fraud were recently reported in the Westfield Police Blotter.

Westfield Police Blotter – Feb. 4 to Feb. 10:

On Feb. 5 at 10:18 p.m.: Zyaire Boone, 26, Plainfield, was arrested on the strength of a traffic warrant issued by the Borough of Roselle Municipal Court for $190. Boone had an additional traffic warrant issued for his arrest as well, also issued by the same municipality. He was released from the scene on his own recognizance with a new court date.

On Feb. 9 at 1:03 p.m.: A resident of the 800 block of Forest Avenue reported being a victim of fraud. On Jan. 31, the victim received a social media solicitation asking her if she wanted to make money. She responded via text and received an immediate response asking her for her personal information. Prior to realizing that she was being scammed, the victim provided the suspect(s) with her Cashapp login information, her driver’s license number, and her bank login information. There after she received a notification from her bank regarding fraudulent activity on her account. The victim was able to close the compromised account and suffered no monetary loss.
