Westfield High School Teacher Speaks at N.J. Bar Foundation Conference

A local high school social studies teacher was invited to speak at the New Jersey Bar Foundation's Law Related Education Conference.

A Westfield High School teacher spoke at the New Jersey State Bar Foundation’s 24th Annual Law Related Education Conference last month.

Mary Keller, social studies teacher at Westfield High School, spoke at the May 1 conference, focusing on ways to teach students about the Supreme Court of the United States, according to officials from Westfield Public Schools.

Keller was one of a select group of educators to have attended the Street Law’s Supreme Court Summer Institute in Washington, D.C., in June of 2014, the school district said. The social studies teacher’s speech drew from experiences, methods and strategies learned from the institute.

“I was very honored to have both opportunities,” Keller said in a release from the school district. “And I appreciate the continued support and guidance I receive in Westfield.”

Keller’s presentation at the New Jersey Bar Foundation’s conference dealt with cases from the Supreme Court’s 2013-2014 term.
