WESTFIELD, NJ — The “Be the Light” initiative to combat local hunger in the Westfield area is continuing through Dec. 19.

It kicked off two weeks ago with a series of events, including a live virtual concert by Westfield resident John Rzeznik, the lead singer of the Goo Goo Dolls.

The initiative is run by the Westfield United Fund, which works with more than a dozen area agencies on issues ranging from food insecurity to kids who need extra homework help.
