WESTFIELD, NJ — As Tropical Storm Zeta remnants continued to dump rain on northern New Jersey, the Westfield public schools announced they'll be closed Friday.

In an unprecedented announcement referencing technology, the district wrote, "District internet service is down, due to the storm. Because students and staff will not have access to materials needed for instruction, all Westfield Public Schools will be closed today, Friday, Oct. 30."
