Westfield Storm Updates: See Closings, Cancellations, Parking, Snow Removal Impacts
On Tuesday, some resources and schedules have been modified.
WESTFIELD, NJ — The Town of Westfield is facing more than a foot of snow on Tuesday as municipal workers and residents continue to clear the roads.
Officials have announced a number of closings, adjustments, and reminders in the wake of the storm.

The 9-1-1 line should be used for emergencies only. This includes downed wires that are arching or sparking.
Each downed wire should be treated as live and not approached.

All other calls should be directed to the non-emergency line at 908-789-4000.
Road Closures
Springfield Avenue is closed north of East Broad Street on Tuesday due to a hazardous road condition.
Snow Removal
After three inches of snow falls in the Town, sidewalks must be cleared within 24 hours after continuous snowfall has stopped. Shoveling and plowing into the street is prohibited.
Owners of abutting property to sidewalks that aren't cleared are subject to citations.
An area of three feet should be cleared around all fire hydrants with a clear path for street access.
Parking
Cars may not be parked on Town streets. Westfield Police are writing citations for vehicles left on the roads.
Downtown residents without a driveway can park behind Baron's in Lot 4. Others can use the Memorial Pool lot's tennis court side.
The areas listed below can only be used to park on the side with even house numbers (not including Ross Place):
- 400 and 500 block of Downer St.
- 400 block of First St.
- Livingston Street
- Cacciola Place
- Cowperthwaite Place (between Elm Street and Clark Street)
- 300 and 400 block of Lenox Ave.
- 200 block of St. Paul St.
- All of Ross Place (Use odd-number side only)
The South Avenue Lot 3, Watterson Street Lot 6, Lot 2, and Lot 8 are all available for use.
Lot 1 behind Trader Joe's and Lot 5 behind Starbucks were scheduled to be plowed on Tuesday morning.
Power Outages
Week-Long Outages Estimated For Thousands In NJ After Blizzard
Curbside Zone 1 service was postponed from Monday until Tuesday. All other zones were delayed by one day.
Schools
Westfield Public Schools are closed on Tuesday.
Buildings and Services
Town Hall and the Memorial Library are operating on normal hours Tuesday. The Town Council meeting will also be conducted as normal.
The Conservation Center will reopen on Wednesday.
Historic Preservation Committee
A meeting for the Historic Preservation Committee scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Monday has been canceled.
