Westfield Student Earns Perfect Score In National Latin Exam

The Westfield student was one of 929 to get this distinction out of more than 140,000 students world-wide who took the Latin exam.

Westfield, NJ - Only one year into studying the Latin language and this Westfield High School 9th grader has already earned a perfect score on the National Latin Exam, according to an announcement by the University of Mary Washington, which administers the exam.

“I love how it connects to the English language today," Taaffe stated in a release.

This exam is taken by more than 140,000 students throughout the world including  the entire United States, Taiwan, Canada, England, New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong, Italy, Germany, Singapore, Spain, Greece, Puerto Rico, Japan, Portugal, Zimbabwe, France, Belgium, China, and South Korea, according to the National Latin Exam Committee.

And Westfield's Tomas Taaffe was one out of 929 students world-wode to earn this distinction.

Taaffe also received a Gold Medal for his accomplishment.
