Woman Walking Dog Hit By Car, Injured In Union County
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital and the dog was taken to an emergency clinic for injuries on Saturday.
UNION, NJ — A woman and her dog were both hit by a car early Saturday morning in Union Township, said Fire Chief Gregory B. Ricciardi.
Just before 1 a.m., Union Township Firefighters went to 2062 Springfield Ave. for a pedestrian and dog hit by a vehicle.
The female patient was assessed and taken to University Hospital in Newark.

Due to a long delay from animal control and the dog's condition, Union Fire brought the pet to the emergency animal clinic on Route 22 for treatment.
"There were obvious internal injuries to both victims, but both were stable as of transport," said Ricciardi.
