Wrapped Moments To Close In Union

UNION, NJ — Opened by a Union local, Wrapped Moments announced it will be closing at the end of the month.

Daniela Santos made the announcement on the store's Facebook page on Tuesday.

"After much consideration, I have decided to close my storefront, Wrapped Moments. This is not the end of Wrapped Moments," Santos said in the post. "We will soon have an online website with new and unique gift options as well as some of our best sellers."

The store had specialized in home and kitchen décor items, seasonal items and gifts for all occasions. Located at 1275B Stuyvesant Avenue in Union, the store opened in December 2016.

Many shoppers expressed their sadness over the store's closing on social media.

"Sorry to see another store close in our town," said Lucy Carugan.

"No, I love your store! This is very sad news and a loss to our community," said Meghan Parsons Hyer.

"You set out to pursue a dream and you should be so proud of that! I don’t think the issue is your store or the town even. Unfortunately consumers have grown so used to the convenience of the internet and large department stores that we fail to realize how much we are killing shops like yours. Heck, even Toys R Us didn’t make it. But good things happen to good people, this is just the beginning of a new chapter for Wrapped Moments and you my dear will be successful!" said Vania Cerqueira.

As a result of the closure, everything in the store will be 40 percent off. The shelving units and displays will also be sold at a reduced rate.

The last day of business will be April 30.

"Lastly, I want to thank everyone who supported this dream of mine," Santos said in the post. "I accomplished what I set out to do, which was meeting great people and creating friendships from the town I love. Thank you all again!!"
