WEST ORANGE — The soon-to-be-formed Kiwanis Club of West Orange has officially reached a major milestone, securing its initial 15 members and moving one step closer to becoming the newest addition to the Kiwanis family.
To mark the occasion, organizers have scheduled a Charter Organization Night for Monday, April 6 at 6:00 p.m. at the West Orange Public Library.
The meeting will serve as a pivotal moment for the club, as members will gather to formally vote on the creation of the organization. A quorum is required for the vote, and all founding members are strongly encouraged to attend.

“This is truly a community-driven effort,” said Frank Cahill. “While guidance is being provided throughout the process, the club will ultimately be shaped by the residents of West Orange.”
Once officially formed, members will take the lead in determining the club’s direction, including selecting service projects, planning fundraising initiatives, setting meeting schedules, establishing dues, and adopting bylaws.

Kiwanis clubs are also known for sponsoring Service Leadership Programs, which develop leadership skills in young people while encouraging a lifelong commitment to community service. These programs include K-Kids at the elementary level, Builders Club for middle school students, Key Club at the high school level, and Circle K International at colleges and universities—creating a strong pipeline of future leaders dedicated to making a difference.
“It’s not too late to get involved,” added Cahill. “We encourage residents to invite friends, co-workers, and family members to be part of this exciting new Kiwanis Club. The more people involved, the greater the impact we can make in the community.”
The Charter Organization Night is expected to be brief but impactful, providing an opportunity for members to share input and help lay the foundation for a strong and service-oriented club.
