N.J. Biz Offers Free Ice Cream For 1st Responders On National Night Out: Police, Fire, EMT

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — It’s almost impossible to thank someone properly for putting their life on the line for you. But free ice cream is a good start.

In concert with National Night Out, an annual community-building campaign that “promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie,” Gelotti Ice Cream will be offering free cones to police, firefighters and first responders in the Essex County area at three local events on Tuesday, Aug. 2.

Free ice cream will be available to emergency responders at National Night Out events in Caldwell, Montclair and Fairfield, a company news release stated.

Local residents are encouraged to attend and meet with the responders who guard their safety, the release stated.

“Because of the recent events across our country and the current political environment we face… my company is going to provide free ice cream in Caldwell, Montclair, and Fairfield to all the first responders, police and fire fighters to give thanks for their service,” Gelotti owner Mike Guerriero said.

“A little ice cream can go a big way if we can build connections that prevent violence, and situations that we too often see as commonplace in American society,” he added.

CALDWELL

In Caldwell, free ice cream for first responders will be available at the Gelotti store on Bloomfield Avenue. Learn more here.

MONTCLAIR

In Montclair, Gelotti will have a cart on-site at the Montclair Night Out event on South Park Street. Ice cream is free to police, fire fighters and first responders.

FAIRFIELD

Gelotti through a partnership with the Fairfield municipal alliance, and the Fairfield Police Department, will be giving away free ice cream to all who attend the local National Night Out event. Learn more here.
