Rho Gamma Omega Partners With Nassan’s Place and WOAHO for a MLK Day of Service Event

The Rho Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® invites the community to join its We Are One MLK Day of Service Event in partnership with Nassan’s Place and the West Orange African Heritage Organization for a meaningful day of reflection, service, and unity.

This impactful community gathering honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through powerful youth-led oratorical performances featuring excerpts from Dr. King’s historic speeches. In collaboration with the Alpha Alpha Lambda Scholarship Foundation, local youth will bring Dr. King’s words to life, reminding attendees of his enduring message of service, justice, and collective responsibility.

In addition to the performances, guests will enjoy Black History Trivia with free prizes, light refreshments, and an opportunity to participate in a Sensory-Friendly Food Drive designed to support families within the neurodivergent community.

Community members are invited to support the Sensory Friendly Food Drive by donating one or more of the following items upon entry: chicken nuggets, frozen French fries, yogurt, gummy vitamins, Welch’s fruit snacks, and non lactose milk. All donated items will be available for families to receive at the conclusion of the event.

This special gathering will honor Dr. King’s legacy by turning his call to serve into meaningful action through education, inclusion, and community care.
