School Fundraises For W. Orange Residents Displaced In Landslide

WEST ORANGE, NJ — The staff of West Orange’s Roosevelt Middle School recently held two “Staff $5 Dress-Down Days” to raise money for residents who remain displaced due to a devastating rock slide at 275 Northfield Avenue.

Students of Roosevelt Middle School's Community Connection Club held a school-wide pajama day fundraiser, and all funds they raised went to help the displaced residents.

On Nov. 23, the Community Connection Club, their advisors and school principal Lionel Hush presented a check in the amount of $578 to a family who remains displaced. The money will be dispersed to all the displaced residents.

The total raised by West Orange’s Roosevelt Middle School, Washington Elementary School and West Orange High School is $1,356.
