MIDLAND PARK, N.J. (September 17, 2012) – LAN Associates Engineering, Planning, Architecture, Surveying, Inc., headquartered in Midland Park, recently hosted its eighth blood drive in the past seven years. The Community Blood Service’s bloodmobile was parked outside of LAN Associates to assist those who were generous enough to donate. This marks the 7th year that LAN has hosted the drive.
“LAN’s staff gives to an assortment of community services throughout the year, but one of the best ways to give back is by donating blood,” said Ronald Panicucci, CEO and Treasurer of LAN. “Especially late summer when there is typically a blood shortage,” continues Kenneth Karle, President of LAN.

Nationally, less than 5% of the population donates blood. In NJ, less than 3% of the population donates. In order to help increase the amount of blood donated in New Jersey, LAN has already scheduled its next 2013 Blood Drive for March 12, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Community Blood Services has been serving the community’s transfusion medicine needs for more than 50 years. They provide life-saving blood and blood products to hospitals in New Jersey and New York, bone marrow registration and donor services, and public and private umbilical cord blood collection and storage. The New Jersey Cord Blood Bank is the only public cord blood bank for the State of New Jersey.
