STOP Human Trafficking Now

        The League of Women Voters of Northern Valley will   present the forum, STOP Human Trafficking Now, a panel discussion on prevention, awareness and advocacy.  The forum will take place on Monday, November 19, 7:30 p.m., at the Tenafly Middle School auditorium, located at 10 Sunset Lane in Tenafly, New Jersey. 

         Co-sponsors of the forum are the Northern New Jersey National Organization for Women, National Organization for Women of New Jersey, and the National Council of Jewish Women Bergen County Section.  The event is free and open to the public.

         The program will include a keynote address by Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle, author and prime sponsor of the Human Trafficking, Protection, Prevention and Treatment Act, and a panel discussion.

         The following experts will participate on the panel:  Ingrid Johnson, a nurse and the mother of a victim, will present the personal struggles victims face; Patricia Devine Harms, Chair of the Junior Leagues of New Jersey State Public Affairs Committee, will discuss advocacy and human trafficking; Captain Joe Rampolla with the Park Ridge Police Department, will examine emerging cyber technologies in human trafficking and law enforcement challenges; and Andrew Yeager, Certified School Psychologist and Student Assistance Counselor, will talk about the psychological effects of victimization and exploitation.  Ann Moscovitz, Past President of the LWVNV, will moderate the panel.
