Take part in Classes for the Cure on Thursday, October 25th
In recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness month, THE GYM MONTVALE is offering Classes for the Cure on Thursday, October 25th. Make a suggested donation of $25 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation – a not-for-profit organization fueling the best science and making the biggest impact in the fight against breast cancer – to choose from a variety of classes offered, including: dance, cardio, cross-training, strength, yoga and spinning classes.
Classes for the Cure is open to members and non-members – and accommodates all skill levels. Invite friends or family to experience THE GYM while making a difference in the fight against breast cancer. Please contact the Customer Service Desk to sign up or with any questions. Registration will open Tuesday, October 23rd. Space is limited and some availably restrictions may apply.

Group Fitness Schedule:
6 am: Cardio Strength Mix with Eman
This dynamite combination of cardio and strength is taught either in segments or interval style. The instructor may incorporate anything from multi-impact aerobics and step, to jump ropes, weights, bands, and fitness balls.

8 am: Basic Strength with Lisa B.
A 30 minute strength training class emphasizing proper posture, position, form, and technique using light resistance. This is a great class for those new to group fitness! (warm-up prior to class participation is strongly recommended)
8:30 am: Triple Play with Lisa B.
Play hard with balls, bands, gliders, bars, benches, and weights. Each toy will do triple duty - high intensity cardio bursts, compound strength exercises, and core work - before you move onto the next. You never know what you’re going to play with next!
9:30 am: Strength Training with Denise
10:30: Rebounder Boot Camp with Gina S.
An intense cardio workout using rebounder trampolines combined with challenging intervals of strength training.
12:15 pm: Boost Fit (45 minutes) with Eve
Full body sculpting class based on interval training. Super intense energy bursts for 20 seconds then resting for 10 seconds, repeat this for 4 minutes working each body part. You will love both the mental and physical challenge and especially the results!
5:00 pm: The Core with Linda
Go way beyond just working your abs. Condition your entire core musculature. See and feel the results with this 30 minute class.
5:30 pm: Cardio Strength Mix with Linda

6:30 pm: Latin Cardio with Omar
Feel like you’re on vacation and take a Latin dance class. Sweat and move to Latin beats while your body enjoys this fun cardio workout.
Soft Room Schedule:
6:00 am: Vinyasa Yoga (75 minutes) with Marla
This Yoga is practiced in a flow-like style. Participants will move from one pose right into the next in a sequence of fluid movements. Emphasis is placed on flexibility and strength.
8:15 am: Anusara Yoga (75 minutes) with Marla
This Hatha style yoga integrates the spirit of the heart with precise bio-mechanical alignment. Throughout the practice students will balance energetically, flowing in and out of each Asana.
9:30 am: Sculpt Fusion with Lori
Modeled after the Lotte Berk Method this class fuses core conditioning with disciplines of Pilates and yoga to produce lean and flexible muscles using 2-3 lb dumbbells.
10:30 am: Pilates with Eve
Pilates can be a very effective method in helping to improve core strength, balance, flexibility and posture. Like Yoga, there are many unique training styles. Our Pilates program offers a wide range of instructors and allows you to choose a style most appropriate for your lifestyle. We recommend all beginners take at least 2-3 Basic Pilates classes.
12:15 pm: Express Yoga (30 minutes) with Pam
5:30 pm: Vinyasa Yoga with Jason Z.

6:30 pm: Pilates w/ Props with Andrea
This class will utilize foam rollers, bands, Pilates ring and ball to challenge participants.
Spin Room Schedule:
SPIN is a cardio workout appropriate for all levels. In order to be properly situated on a SPIN bike, please arrive 10 minutes before the beginning of each class and ask the instructor for assistance. SPIN classes are 55 minutes long.
