Eat a Huge Gyro, Help Developmentally Disabled Adults
The "Gyrnormous Gyro Eating Challenge" will benefit Spectrum For Living.

Anyone willing to take on a 6-pound gyro can help Washington Township's Greek eatery Gyros & Goodies fundraise for Spectrum For Living next month.
The restaurant will be hosting the "Gyrnormous Gyro Eating Challenge" September 8 in which as many as 30 contestants will take a shot at eating a 6-pound gyro in just one hour. To date, only two eaters have completed the challenge.
Spectrum For Living is a nonprofit group which assists adults with physical and developmental disabilities. They have an adult training center in Westwood and other facilities throughout the area.
Genesis Network Group and Pompton Family Dental are sponsoring all the eaters, so anyone who wants to participate just needs to pay a $10 deposit to reserve a spot and fill out a waiver and release form.
Anyone who finishes the meal wins a "I conquered the Gyrnormous Gyro" t-shirt.
To sign up, stop by Gyros & Goodies on Pascack Road. For anyone who just wants to watch, the event will take place in a tent in the Washington Town Center parking lot starting at 3:30 p.m. September 8.
