Phil Ochs Song Night

An  all star cast consisting of Kim & Reggie Harris,       Magpie, John Flynn, Pat Wictor, Greg Greenway and
George Wurzbach
will perform THE SONGS OF PHIL OCHS at the Acoustic Café on Saturday, November 17th. Proceeds will benefit the OLM Haiti scholarship fund.

Phil Ochs Song Nights commemorate the life and music
of Phil Ochs, while also highlighting new talents making music in the spirit that Phil made his music. Phil was one of
the seminal figures of the 60's Folk movement and his classic songs live today in the hearts of fans and performers alike. The evening will be hosted by Phil’s
sister Sonny Ochs, who is still an active figure in the folk community and she will add historical and biographical notes to put these songs in the context of the era and the times.

Phil was perhaps the most incisive topical songwriter of the times, an artist whom Bob Dylan alternately admired and envied. A measure of the greatness of his songs is that most of them are still getting more and more relevant as they approach their 50th anniversaries.

Tere But for Fortune, a documentary by Three-time Emmy®-nominated filmmaker Kenneth Bowser was recently released and is a revealing biography of a conflicted, truth-seeking troubadour
who, with guitar in hand, stood up for what he believed in and challenged us all to do the same. http://philochsthemovie.com
