Sophomores and Juniors getting ready for the SAT’s may benefit from SAT prep courses offered on Sundays by Academic Achievement, Inc. at the Bergen County YJCC beginning in March. Teachers are Academic Achievement directors Irwin Dolgoff and Jerry Silverstein. The YJCC is located at 605 Pascack Road, Township of Washington.
The basic SAT prep course will be held on Sundays from 12:30 to 3:45 p.m. on March 11, 18, 25 and April 1, 15, 22 and 29. It will cover critical reading with an emphasis on improving vocabulary and reading skills, writing with a review of essential grammar, and math, focusing on major topics tested. The fee is $550.
Academic Achievement is also offering a writing seminar on how to how to effectively and efficiently handle the essay portion of the SAT. This seminar will meet on Tuesdays, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on March 27 and April 17. The fee is $200.
