Grab & Go Kids Planner: Princess Ball & Family Fun

This column brings you the family best bets of the week for Bergen County

You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.

1. Sweetheart Princess Ball 
Where/When:
 Friday, 7:30 to 9 p.m.; NJ Children's Museum, 599 Valley Health Plaza, Paramus
Why Go: Dine and dance the night away with your favorite princesses. Cinderella, Ariel, Belle, Snow White, Jasmine and Sleeping Beauty will be there to sign autographs, pose for pictures and dance with all little sweethearts.
Pricing: $19.99 per ticket

2. Disney's Cinderella Kids 
Where/When: Saturday, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., Sunday, 1 p.m.; Porch Light Productions, 555 S. Broad St., Glen Rock
Why Go: This musical will charm its way into your heart, and remind you that dreams really can come true.
Pricing: Adult: $15; Student/Senior: $12

3. The Imaginary World of Kimmy Schwimmy  
Where/When: Sunday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.; Kaplen JCC on the Palisades, 411 E. Clinton Ave., Tenafly; 201-408-1438
Why Go: Kimmy puts on a great show for kids. Her songs are written specifically to enhance gross motor development, language and literacy skills and to reinforce the concepts your child is already learning in preschool. 
Pricing: Advance tickets: $15 for members, $18 for guests; $20 at the door

4. Family Fun Event: The Magic of Chemistry 
Where/When: Sunday, 2 p.m.; Ridgewood Public Library, 12 N. Maple Ave. Ridgewood; 201-670-5600
Why Go: Lisa Lou will use magic, circus skills and help from the audience to help explain atoms, molecules, the elements, compounds, solutions, magnetism and static electricity. Geared toward Pre-K to Grade 5.
Pricing: $5 per person

5. Sweetheart Party at Gymboree Play & Music 
Where/When: Sunday, 2:30 to 4 p.m.; 160 Hopper Ave., Waldwick, 201-262-4485
Why Go: Enjoy Valentine's Day with your little loves. The kids will stroll in a sweetheart parade, play on Cupid's obstacle course/the tunnels of love, sing songs, make heart crafts and enjoy a snack. The party is geared toward children under the age of 5. Also taking place at the Paramus and Pine Brook locations.  Call for details.
Pricing: $20 per child
