Learn How to Make Delicious Dirt Pie

An easy recipe for a tasty summer snack

I'm not much of a cook, so in the kitchen, I tend to go with the easiest options. But I do have a sweet tooth, so if I'm going to put a little effort into anything, it's going to be dessert.

Lucky for me, I found a dessert that is not only incredibly easy to make, but delicious as well.

Dirt Pie. It sounds yucky, but the mix of chocolate pudding, Oreo cookies and gummy worms brings together the best of both worlds: gummies and chocolate. I made dirt pie purchasing everything I needed from the local supermarket.

Here's what you need:

- One 22 oz. package of chocolate pudding (I used the Stop & Shop brand because it was cheaper, $2.79, and fewer calories, 140 per serving)
- 2 cups of Cool Whip (fat-free or lite is okay to use)
-One package of Oreos (or the Stop & Shop brand Twisto's)
-One package of gummy worms
-Small plastic cups
-Gallon-sized Ziploc (or non-name brand) bag

Directions:

  • Empty the pudding into a large bowl and mix in the Cool Whip until the pudding turns a light white color.
  • Place the Oreos in the gallon-sized bag and seal the bag tight. Put the bag on the counter or table and crush cookies with your fist until they are almost completely crushed. This will be your "dirt."
  • Pour a small amount (about a half a cup) of the crushed cookies into the pudding mixture.
  • Pour the mixture into the small cups until they are about 3/4 full. Then add the cookie "dirt" to the top, covering the mixture in each cup.
  • Add gummy worms so that they appear to have crawled out of the "dirt."
  • Enjoy!
