Pancakes, Sausage and Bacon Served Up for a Good Cause

Volunteers put their cooking skills to work as the Thomas J. Riley Senior Center hosted a fundraiser pancake breakfast Sunday to benefit the center's many programs.

Al and Susan Kenny, Debbie Oakes, Frannie Pajak, Ruth Jordan, and Marianne Wall were among the volunteers for the event.

For more than 30 years, the Riley Center has served as a meeting place for senior citizens in the Pascack Valley and surrounding areas in Bergen County. Among the activities offered at the Center are bingo, parties, and line dancing, as well as classes in computer skills, foreign languages, and arts and crafts. Seniors can also particpate in exercise classes including yoga, tai chi and aerobics.

And during, tax season an accountant is on hand several days a week to provide free services.

Donations also go towards providing meals for homebound residents.
