Why Go: The special Valentine's Day package, also being offered on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, includes a four course meal, a special love quiz, a souvenir photo and a special gift.
Pricing: $150 per couple plus 20 percent gratuity and tax; $60 per person for groups of five or more, not including tax and tip.

Why Go: This Zagat rated restaurant consistently tops lists of top romantic dining destinations in Bergen County and offers a three course menu during a two hour seating; special menus and seatings also available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Pricing: $65 per person
Where/When: Monday, 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.; 231 Polify Road, Hackensack; 201-342-4085
Why go: This historic inn listed in the National Historic Register has a fantastic elegant romantic atmosphere and offers a special four course menu for Valentine's Day.
Pricing: $70 per person plus tax and gratuity
Where/When: Monday, 5 p.m. to closing; 167 Park Ave., Rutherford; 201-935-2995
Why Go: Normally Cafe Matisse is closed on Mondays but it will be open for Valentine's Day. Staff members have created a special menu so call for more details and reservations as this Zagat-rated restaurant is consistently booked. A "week of romance" kicks off Feb. 11.

Why go: Chakra offers up a special prix-fixe four course menu on Valentine's Day and Saturday and Sunday; There is also a "Lovers Brunch" from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Pricing: $82 per person, plus tax and gratuity
Where/When: Monday, 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.; 130 E. Main St., Ramsey; 201-934-0030
Why go: Chef Kevin Kohler has a love for fresh produce, in fact he often picks his own at Abma's Farm in Wyckoff so many of the offering on the menu reflect his passion for seasonally available produce. A recent renovation expanded the restaurant offering more available seatings but reservations are recommended.

Why Go: Excellent menu selections and a romantic dining room make this a great destination for Valentine's Day.

Why Go: If you’re thinking about what to get that special someone for Valentine’s Day, chances are you’ve considered getting them some kind of sweet treat. Don’t settle for second-rate confections, try in Glen Rock’s Downtown Business District. We highly recommend the Red Velvet Cupcake with Cream Cheese Frosting, it’s perfect for the holiday.
Pricing: All cupcakes are $2.25 each or $24 per dozen.
Where/When: 180 Franklin Turnpike, Mahwah, 201-512-1144. Feb. 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: Valentine's Day High Tea is served up on that special day. This package includes all sorts of classy fare like fancy scones with Devonshire cream and a quiche. Don't forget to raise your pinkie to the Queen. Reservations are required for both times. The afternoon menu includes a pot of tea, quiche, salad, a scone with Devonshire cream and raspberry jam and much more. Coffee is also available. The evening menu is the same, but this time Karen, the house harpist, will play love songs while you enjoy your meal. Check out Bon Appetit's menu.
Pricing: Feb. 14, 2 to 4 p.m., $32.95 per person, not including tax and gratuity. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., $40 per person, not including tax and gratuity.
- Valentine's Day Dinner Dance
Where/When: Arthur Murray Dance Studio, 257 E. Ridgewood Ave., Ridgewood Feb. 14 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Why Go: Get ready to cut a rug with and chow down on the best from . This Ridgewood event promises to be a fun-filled Valentine's Day you'll never forget, complete with a romantic dinner by candle light. Reservation and deposit are required. Pricing: This BYOB event will run you $90 per person.
