2 More Incidents of Man Exposing Himself to Kids in Linden

A man is exposing himself in Linden, and police said it happened twice again Wednesday. It may be connected to a Roselle Park incident.

Linden, NJ - As Patch has reported, a man in either his late teens or early 20s is exposing himself to younger children in Linden, police say, and officials say it happened two more times in the borough on Wednesday. The first incident was Aug. 8, when a man described as being 17 to 18 driving a small, dark car exposed himself to two juveniles on the 500 block of Academy Terrace. The man in that incident was described as having short blonde hair and was wearing a ROTC-type uniform.

However, on Wednesday it happened again in Linden, twice in the same day: In the first incident, which occurred shortly before 3 p.m. on the 2000 block of Myrtle Terrace, a small black vehicle, occupied by a white man in his 20s, was parked along the curb when the driver called a group of four juveniles, male and female, ages 11 and 12, over to his car. He exposed himself to them before driving off, police said. The children described the man as clean shaven with short black hair and wearing a black shirt.

While officers were investigating, they got a call about another incident, which took place just 10 minutes later: At 3:10 p.m. at the corner of Edgewood Road and Summit Terrace. In that incident, a 16-year-old girl was riding her bicycle at the intersection when a small, dark-colored vehicle pulled alongside her and the driver called out to her. He then exposed himself to the girl before driving east towards Orchard Terrace. The driver was described as a young white man with short “buzz-cut” style brown hair, a dark tee shirt and blue jeans.

Detectives are also checking to see if the Linden incidents are connected to a similar incident in Roselle Park. In April, a man tried to lure a 16-year-old boy into his car in Roselle Park, after having a sexually explicit conversation with the teen.
