A Huge Crowd Was Entertained by 'Bollywood' Movie Star at This Year's India Fair

The annual fair, held at the NJ Expo Center at Raritan Center. featured an appearance from Bollywood movie star Harman Baweja - and over 12,000 guests

Over 12,000 people descended upon the NJ Convention and Expo Center over the weekend to celebrate Indian culture at India Fair '11.

The fair, held annually, featured over 130 vendors offering everything from traditional Indian cuisine to jewelry and clothing to henna art.  Entertainers included Bollywood movie star Harman Baweja, musician Ritesh Rathod performing with a live band, and singer-songwriter-producer G-Deep.

"It's a celebration of Indian art and culture," said Rajesh Anand, organizer and President of India Fair.  "We're sharing our culture with our friends.  It's open to all, everybody is welcome" at the fair.

Dance groups, including Aditi Dance Group, ARYA Dance Academy, and Bollywood Performing Arts, entertained the crowd with choreographed dancing, while nearby, inflatable slides and bounce-houses were provided for children to play.  A Bollywood Fashion Show, highlighting ethnic costumes and dresses, was also held, in addition to sales of art, clothing, and music celebrating Indian culture.

"We're thankful to Edison township for their support and the Convention Center for hosting this function," added Anand.  "We're also thankful to the community for supporting this in a big way."
