Body Recovered From Woodbridge Home That Collapsed In Fire
A body has been recovered from the rubble of the Woodbridge home that collapsed in a fire Friday morning:
WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A body was recovered from the rubble of the Woodbridge home that collapsed in a fire Friday morning.
However, the body was too badly burned to make an identification, said a spokeswoman for the Middlesex County Prosecutor Monday morning. Authorities are waiting for dental records to confirm the identity.
This is the fire that broke out at 2:40 a.m. Friday at a home on Greenbrook Avenue in the Keasbey section of Woodbridge.

A 53-year-old man and his elderly mother lived together in the home. When firefighters got there, they found the house engulfed in flames. Shortly thereafter, the house collapsed.
ABC News reported that the man has special needs and he and his mother, in her 70s, lived together in the home for decades.

The adult son was pulled from the burning home and he was hospitalized Friday at St. Barnabas Medical Center Burn Unit in Livingston for burn injuries, said Mayor John McCormac. That is the hospital that handles the most serious burn injuries in the state. However, as of Monday, he was discharged from the hospital and is recovering.
His mother remained missing amidst the subsequent house collapse. ABC reported authorities brought in a cadaver dog to help in the search.
