Get Out! Battle of the Bands This Weekend in Carteret

It's another weekend, another list of things to occupy your time as the summer slowly comes to a close.  There's live music Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in Carteret - start with Somers & Steel at Carteret Park, move on to a Battle of the Bands on Saturday, and wrap the weekend up with The Cameos on the waterfront Sunday evening.

You could always pack up the kids and take a quick drive up the Parkway to Kenilworth, where the annual Fire Department Carnival will be happening all weekend long, or check out the farmer's market in Westfield.  There's family fun and the movie Cars at Echo Lake Park in Mountainside Friday evening, and a Doo-Wop fundraiser on Sunday.

Registration continues this weekend for the New Jersey Senior Olympics (to be held in Woodbridge in a few weeks) and Ice Hockey Camp, while Elizabeth plays host to two big events this weekend - a Car & Bike show on Saturday, and a Dominican Festival on Sunday.
