Cops: Truck Switched Turnpike Lanes And Struck NJ Transit Bus, Injuring 10
Traffic was getting by in the right lane, but traffic jams that stretched for miles were reported.
Ten injuries - one serious - were reported Wednesday when a tractor-trailer truck quickly switched lanes and struck an NJ Transit bus on the New Jersey Turnpike, police said.
All of the injured were taken to UMDNJ in Newark, according to the State Police.
The crash happened just before 8 a.m. when a tractor-trailer truck in the right center lane switched to the left center lane, said Alina Spies of the State Police.

The truck then struck the NJ Transit bus on its back side, she said.
The matter is under investigation, and no charges have been filed.

Traffic was reportedly backed up between Exits 8 and 13 on the Turnpike. The accident happened at mile-marker 97.7 in Linden, according to the State Police.
The roadway was cleared by 1 p.m.
NJ Transit said 61 passengers were on board the bus, which was traveling from Lakewood in Ocean County to Lincoln Harbor. EMS had to use ladders to help get people out of Bus 63.
