WOODBRIDGE, NJ - A man with a gun broke in on a group of friends playing a poker game late Saturday night in Woodbridge Township, but — surprisingly — the group was able to subdue him until police came, Woodbridge police said.
The incident happened on Harrell Avenue in the early hours of Sunday morning, at about 3 a.m., Patch can exclusively report. A man wearing a mask entered the basement of a home on Harrell Ave., where a group of 13 was playing poker. He displayed a handgun and demanded money.
However, several people in the group were able to subdue him.

"There were enough people there that they grabbed him, wrestled the gun away from him and held him until the police arrived," said Capt. Roy Hoppock of the Woodbridge police department. "We're very fortunate no one got hurt. The defendant was the only one with a gun."
Someone called 911 and Jarvis McCloud, 37, of Perth Amboy, was arrested at the scene, police said. The 9 mm revolver was found to be loaded. He was charged with 13 counts of robbery, burglary, certain persons not to have a weapon, criminal mischief and one count of aggravated assault.
