Metuchen Junebug Festival Goes to the Dogs
And their two-legged owners. The borough holds the festival every Friday throughout June.
On Friday nights in June, the place to be is Metuchen. The borough has been holding its Junebug Artfest every Friday night throughout the month to showcase and sell the work of area artists, and give locals a downtown venue to stroll, nosh, and enjoy the various shows.
Last Friday, one of the featured events was a Pet Parade. The four-legged furballs and their two-legged owners came out to strut their stuff, with many of the pooches in costume. As befitting all the effort both canine and human put into their outfits, the Metuchen Chamber of Commerce handed out prizes for the most popular dog/human duos.
First prize went to Tucker, the hot 'dog' in a bun, who was accompanied by his owner, Mustard. Sammy, the Search & Rescue dog, took home a second place win.
